The LORD Will Be Your Everlasting Light

Isaiah 60:19-22

New Living Translation (NLT)
19 “No longer will you need the sun to shine by day,
nor the moon to give its light by night,
for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
 20 Your sun will never set;
your moon will not go down.
For the Lord will be your everlasting light.
Your days of mourning will come to an end.
21 All your people will be righteous.
They will possess their land forever,
for I will plant them there with my own hands
in order to bring myself glory.
22 The smallest family will become a thousand people,
and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation.
At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

Thought for the Day
Isaiah 60 is a poem written by the prophet to the city of Zion to inspire her to "reflect light" or "become light" in response to the light of God that has been shed upon her. But, can you imagine Jesus presenting the Sermon on the Mount and the Beautitudes speaking the words here in Isaiah to you? May God's Holy Spirit inspire you this Advent Season and for evermore for; "You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
Today's ADVENTure
In the morning, as you prepare for the day, light a candle to remind yourself that you are called to reflect the light of Christ.
